The racing was fierce at the last round of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at New Jersey Motorsports Park and the RACE EPIC/Murillo Racing duo of Jesse Combs and Jeff Mosing put up a fight to overcome car damage and poor track position to work their way from 14th on the grid to a 7th place finish. The #56 Coolgas/Frank’s International BMW ran among the top-5 in each practice session and was poised to run at the front.

"The RaceEpic crew always comes through as we had a great car all week as usual,” said Mosing. “I was only able to qualify 14th, but believe me when I say we had a car capable of a front row effort as I had a monster “off track” excursion in turn 4 on my flying lap.”

Starting in row seven, Mosing took the green flag and marched through the pack, getting as high as 6th before handing the #56 RaceEpic / Murillo Racing BMW 328i over to teammate, Jesse Combs.

“I got a break in traffic and avoiding incidents early in my stint and we were able to move up through the field,” said Mosing. “I had some contact with one of the Multimatic Ford Focuses right before our driver change and we took some suspension damage. Thankfully the team was able to do a quick repair and get us back out so Jesse could get a solid result.”

Combs took over and restarted the race from the 38th position and patiently worked his way through the field.

“We wouldn’t have been able to get this type of result if it weren’t for the entire RaceEpic/Murillo Racing team,” said Combs. “Our car chief, Eric Lister, used quick thinking after Jeff’s contact and got the right rear wheel realigned and the car back out on track. We went to the rear of the field, but the work was done right and thanks to a long green flag run we could work through the field to a 7th place finish. While we would love to be able to win races, we will take these results too as they are important for the championship standings.”

The consistent results this season have netted the driving pair with third place in the championship standings after four rounds.

The team will next compete in the EMCO Gears Classis at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on June 9. For more information about Race Epic/Murillo Racing, visit www.raceepic.com.
